THE global pandemic has added to the stresses and pressures many of us experience in daily life. That’s why Dumbarton FC is keen to spread the message about good mental health and suicide prevention.
World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) is an awareness day observed on 10th September every year, in order to provide global commitment and action to prevent suicides.
Here at DFC we are sharing links and help on social media today. We want all our friends and supporters to stay safe at the his difficult time, but also to support one another – and to seek good professional help where necessary.
Last year, clubs across Scotland were among the first to receive a new mental health and suicide prevention training resource for players and staff.
Funded by the Scottish Government and created by NHS National Education for Scotland and NHS Health Scotland, this material was shared with all 42 professional football clubs, along with 300 mental health first aiders employed by around 80 football organisations throughout the country.
We are pleased to re-share it today. The material consist of three animations totalling nine minutes, and can be downloaded for use via the links below.
