LIVINGSTON GO NAP AGAINST SONS

Saturday 29th September 2012

DUMBARTON suffered a grim afternoon at the Broadwood Stadium, losing 5-0 to Livingston and missing a penalty in the process.

Sons found themselves two down inside 12 minutes, with goals from Marc McNulty and Craig Barr doing the damage.

The visitors looked like they might get back into the game when Bryan Prunty was fouled in the area, but debutant Chris Turner was unable to convert the spot kick.

Then McNulty added to Dumbarton’s misery by scoring again on 36 minutes to claim his brace. After the break, Livingston continued the pressure, adding two more goals from substitute Callum Booth (65 mins) and Kheagan Jacobs (77 mins) respectively.

Two superb saves from Livi ‘keeper Andrew McNeil thwarted a fine Scott Agnew free kick and denied Sons a consolation goal towards the end. In fact, Sons had several chances to get on the score sheet throughout the game.

Next Saturday Dumbarton are away from home again, hoping to put a poor performance and result behind them as they face Raith Rovers in the Irn Bru SFL First Division.
