DUMBARTON have picked up a priceless 2-1 win away to Albion Rovers after late drama at Cliftonhill.
Playing with a strong wind in the first half, Albion Rovers were first to threaten, with Scott Roberts forcing a fine save from Brett Long.
The Sons keeper was then called into action again, turning a close range header by Jamie Leslie on to the crossbar, with the rebound scrambled clear.
A goal for the home side was coming and duly arrived on 17 minutes when Rovers broke on the counter attack for Lewis Kidd to finish.
The home side were then reduced to 10 men when Kyle Fleming received a straight red card on 22 minutes for a bad challenge.
From the resulting free kick, Ryan Blair hit the post, but an equaliser was not long in coming and did so two minutes later.
A challenge on Ally Love in the area resulted in a penalty being awarded, and Stuart Carswell stepped up to convert.
Despite forcing a couple of saves from the keeper, Dumbarton found themselves under pressure again and it was a bit of a relief to go in at half time 1-1.
The second half was scrappy, with each side struggling to create many clear chances.
But with three minutes left, a cross by Ryan Wallace (pictured) was adjudged to have gone straight in, with Love looking to glance it in.
Dumbarton are back home next week to play Annan Athletic.
