Patrick O’Neil has completed a move today that will see him become a Dumbarton player until the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
The goalkeeper has been named on the Sons bench as a trialist in recent weeks after Brett Long suffered a season ending injury last month.
It isn’t the first time that Paddy has been a Dumbarton player as he signed in the 2021/22 season, though he didn’t make an appearance.
The former Brechin City shotstopper has continued to help out boss Stevie Farrell at training in the past and will now provide competition to Harry Broun going forward.
Faz commented: “It is no secret we had to move for a goalkeeper after Brett’s injury and I’m pleased to be able to bring in Paddy on a permanent basis.
“He is someone I know well and trust and he will provide solid competition to Harry. I will be confident to call upon him on if needed.
“His experience can also help out the rest of the squad, including Harry.”
Paddy is available for selection ahead of tomorrow’s clash with East Fife at the Rock. Sponsor his shirt by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
