AFTER an extensive, thorough and carefully-conducted recruitment process, Dumbarton FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Jim Duffy as our new first team manager.
The 59-year-old, most recently manager of Greenock Morton, was the outstanding candidate among the array of those who applied for the prestigious job in the last week.
He boasts vast experience of management, having also been in charge of Clyde, Brechin City, Dundee (twice), Hibernian and Falkirk.
Chairman John Steele said: “We’re chuffed.
“We would like to thank all those who took the time to apply for the post of being our new first-team manager.
“It is clear from the number of applications we received just how attractive the role is to managers from across the spectrum.
“Jim’s achievements as a manager, most recently having managed Morton to consecutive comfortable finishes in the Championship, made him the unanimous first choice of our board. His team competed for promotion to the Premiership via the playoffs in 2017.
“He has been anxious to get back into football since leaving Morton at the end of last season and we are delighted to give him that opportunity.
“There are still three-quarters of the season left and our target is still perfectly achievable. We know how much ground we have to make up but the scope is there to do it.
“We are certain we have the right manager to try to guide us to that target.
“We would like to thank our sponsors C&G Systems who have worked with the club in order to support the appointment.”
