JACKO: “PLAYERS HAVE SET HIGH STANDARDS”

Wednesday 5th March 2014

SONS Assistant manager Jack Ross is in confident mood ahead of the historic quarter-final tie this weekend.

Jacko is part of Dumbarton’s successful management team and the 37-year old is approaching the Aberdeen quarter-final positively.

He said : “The squad has a great deal of self-belief and are determined to do the club proud along with the large travelling support who have provided them with outstanding backing over the course of the league and cup campaigns.”

The former Falkirk man, who combines his role at DFC with his day job at the Scottish PFA, thinks the Sons squad have so far, produced some exciting times for the club.

“The players have had a terrific season to date and thoroughly deserve the opportunity to try and progress to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.

“I hope the players enjoy the attention and publicity they will receive this week in the lead up to the game as undoubtedly is another reward for their efforts.

“As a group they have continually set high standards throughout the season and if they can reach these again and indeed scale new heights then they will give themselves an opportunity to achieve a positive result.”
