Tuesday 1st July 2014
SONS assistant manager Jack Ross is set to leave the Bet Butler Stadium to join the coaching staff at fellow Championship club Heart of Midlothian.
Falkirk-born Jack, who has had a long playing career as a defender, was enrolled at the start of 2012 as assistant to the manager and player coach, and signed until the end of the 2011-12 season.
He played a significant part in Dumbarton reaching and then winning the first division play-offs, and began the 2012-13 season as Alan Adamson’s right hand man.
He was appointed interim manager on October 22 2012 after Alan left the club, and following the arrival of Ian Murray as player manager on November 22 he agreed to continue as assistant manager and player coach.
In July 2013 he signed on again as a player for the 2013-14 season.
He will be in charge of the Tynecastle club’s under-20s side and also be a part the management structure for Hearts youth academy.
Jack will be with us for the remainder of this week and will travel to the friendly against Edinburgh City on Saturday.
When the time comes to leave, he does with the best wishes of everyone at Dumbarton Football Club and we all wish him success in his new role.
Full reaction to follow.
