JACK BOLTON

Friday 26th February 2021

IT is with very deep sadness that we have learned that Jack Bolton, captain of our legendary championship-winning team of 1972, has died.

Jack played for the club in three seasons after joining us from Raith Rovers in 1970. Over those seasons he played 111 games.

One of those games was the legendary 4-2 victory over Berwick Rangers in May 1972, which saw the club clinch the Second Division title.

Jack, who was 79 when he passed away, hung up his boots at the end of his three years at Boghead Park. He has a special place in the club’s history and will be sadly missed.

The thoughts of everybody at Dumbarton FC are with Jack’s family and friends at this sad time.
