SONS new midfield player Darren Miller is relishing the challenge of playing in the Ladbrokes Championship next season and is a happy man having signed up as part of manager Stevie Aitken’s new look squad.
And it was a former Sons player who recommended the club to Darren, albeit his mind was made up to agree terms when the gaffer made the call.
“Liam Cusick is a mate of mine and he spoke highly of his time at Dumbarton,” said Darren, “so it was an easy decision to join.”
Glasgow-based, Darren is looking to grab his chance at Championship level.
He continued: “Coming from league two to the second tier seems like a massive step, but I’m confident in my own ability and I can’t wait to get stuck in.”
And getting stuck in is exactly what he’ll do. “I love a tackle,” said Darren, “and I’m looking forward to the season ahead.
“The club have made me very welcome and I get a sense of family around the place which is a good atmosphere to have.”
