Tuesday 10th December 2019
SONS’ top scorer Isaac Layne has extended his contract until the end of the season, having signed a renewed deal.
He has nine goals to his name across all competitions so far in the 2019/20 campaign and has found the net in each of the last three games prior to Saturday.
Having initially signed until the end of December, his recent performances have led manager Jim Duffy to extend his contract.
Isaac scored five goals in Sons’ opening five league games this season, including doubles in victories over Stranraer and Montrose.
He is pictured signing his new deal.
The boss said: “It has really clicked for Isaac again recently and we’re glad to get the deal done and keep him here to the end of the season.
“His performances in the opening games of the league season were phenomenal and he’s got himself back among the goals again in the past few weeks.
“Getting him on board until the end of the season means that a box is ticked going forward and we can now focus even more attention on picking up points.”
