IAN Murray was delighted that his side took all three points from their trip to the Excelsior Stadium yesterday.
Despite falling behind to a sloppy goal in 11 minutes, Sons fought back to take a 2-1 half-time lead which they converted to a win after 90 mins.
Murray said : “I’m very pleased that we won the game. It was an important match for us and whilst the performance probably wasn’t as good as it has been, we responded well to the early set-back.
“It was a physical game and we coped well considering we had a few players not quite 100% in terms of fitness, but they all showed great spirit and character.
“The commitment from the first whistle to the final whistle is there for all to see and we are beginning to believe in ourselves.
“And a special word about our fans who gave us tremendous backing and vocal support yesterday.”
