ALL of us at Dumbarton FC were extremely sad to learn of the recent passing of Ian MacDuff, who served as the last Provost of the Burgh of Dumbarton between 1970 and 1975.
Ian was widely admired, and everyone at the club sends sincerest condolences to his family and friends.
As the Lennox Herald has noted, Ian was a lifelong Sons supporter, “attending matches every week with a group of friends with whom he loved nothing more than chatting about the game with.”
His daughter Linda added: “I think if you cut him down the middle he’d be gold, black and white. He was always a huge Sons fan and was first in the queue for a season ticket at the start of every season.”
He will be much missed.
