HAPPY BIRTHDAY GILS

Tuesday 4th November 2014

MIDFIELDER Mark Gilhaney celebrates his 30th birthday today!

Mark, a left winger, began his career at Clyde in 2001 and was loaned to Cambuslang Rangers for his first season. In all he made 73 appearances for Clyde.

He moved to Hamilton Academicals in 2005, helping them to the first division title in 2007-8, and making a total of 89 appearances.

He signed a two year contract with Dundee in May 2008, but in August 2009 joined Alloa Athletic. However he was released at the end of that season.

He signed for Dumbarton following a successful trial period and after contributing nine goals in season 2010-11 agreed another deal in May 2011.

More goals and regular appearances followed in the successful promotion campaign of 2011-12, and in June 2012 he signed a further one year contract extension.

He contributed goals and assists to Sons successful first season back in the first division, and in May 2013 was the first player to sign a new one year contract.

Mark, who made 33 SPFL Championship appearances last season, was also one of the first to sign a new contract for 2014/15 on May 15.

Happy birthday Gils!
