MANAGER Stevie Aitken has cut short his holiday to continue his work at the Sons today, with player contracts the first item on his to-do list.
Stevie was not due to return for another few days, but is determined to make additions to his squad ahead of training starting this coming weekend.
“Despite being in on holiday, I’ve been taking calls from players and agents”, said Stevie.
“I was getting messages at Universal Studios, so I’ve decided to come back a wee bit early and carry on the good work that Faz had been doing whilst I was away.”
The boss remains confident of securing players on his wanted list and is not panicking.
He continued: “There is no panic from our point of view.
“The work carried out already has given us a good base and we are in discussions as we speak.”
The 38-year-old manager, has shown immediately he very much has his own ideas about how the playing side of the club will move forward.
Already on board are new signings Kevin Cawley, Mark Docherty, Gregor Buchanan, Grant Gallagher, and Darren Miller.
As well as finalising the player contracts Stevie also has the task of arranging and finalising the preseason schedule in time for the return of the players.
He added: “The players will report for training on 20th June and I need to make sure that we’re all set up and ready to go from that date.
“Our schedule is starting to take shape nicely.
“The first day of preseason is going to be an exciting one.
“I’m really looking forward to it.”
