GAFFER READY FOR CUP TIE

Monday 17th December 2012

DESPITE the seasonal weather, Dumbarton’s squad have been methodically preparing for tonight’s William Hill Scottish Cup fourth round tie against Hamilton Accies.

The fifth round draw took place place last week with Sons in the hat and while fans dreamt of landing a possible glamour tie, boss Ian Murray is focussed purely on the Accies game.

He knows his team will not be favourites to win the clash courtesy of respective league positions and is all too aware that it will be a tough match.

“You can’t think beyond the round you’re in. The focus has to be purely on us versus Hamilton”, said Murray.

“The potential to get a big draw was there, and in the end we got Dunfermline away but the focus has to be on the 90 minutes in front of us.

“But you only start thinking about the draw when you get a positive result from the previous match.

“And that’s where we are at this moment. Our focus is fully on tonight’s game with the Accies which will be a very difficult game indeed.

“I am though looking forward to it as are the players. The wee break we’ve had has not dampened their spirits but they know that winning the game and progressing into the next round is important to the club.”
