SONS boss Stevie Aitken is pledging to fight back from last night’s loss to Bonnyrigg Rose, which saw Sons exit the Scottish Cup.
Stevie, who met with the club Chairman this afternoon, said: “While reflecting on last nights result, I offer no excuse other than to state that I am bitterly disappointed by both the performance and ultimately the result.
“I accept full responsibility for both, and for this I offer my genuine apologies to the fans and Board of Directors of the club.
“I want to assure all people associated with the club that despite daily press reports I remain totally committed to Dumbarton Football Club, and as such will continue to pursue the joint objective of securing Championship football this season.
“We remain in a competitive position in our league standing, so therefore, the players and the staff will continue to work tirelessly to achieve our Championship status.
In closing, the manager added: “Everyone’s full support in helping to achieve this would be very much appreciated.”
Sons’ next game is at Easter Road this Saturday 10th December, when Hibs are hosts in Edinburgh. The kick-off is 3pm.
