GAFFER PLEASED WITH PLAYERS

Saturday 30th June 2012

SONS boss Alan Adamson admitted that he is satisfied with how preparations are progressing for the new season ahead.

“The players are all responding well and I have to be pleased so far,” said the gaffer.

“We have several new players added to the squad and they’ve fitted in superbly. Team spirit is great.”

The manager confirmed that his squad is more or less complete and he and assistant Jack Ross are now getting on with the business of shaping the team.

“Craig Dargo, who was important for us in the promotion run-in last season, looks like he will be playing football elsewhere in the new campaign.

“We can’t offer him what he was looking for, so at this point he is not in our plans.

“The same applies to Tony Wallace. I’ve not heard from him since we made an offer weeks ago.”

On the loan signing front, Mark Lamont looks set to join up again from St Mirren and Adamson has nt ruled anything out in this area.

“We may have options going forward, and time will tell here,” he said.

Turning to the burning issue that is possible league reconstruction, the manager was in diplomatic mode.

He said: “What will be will be. At the moment we are preparing for our Pre-season matches plus the visit of Queen of the South in the Ramsdens Cup.”
