Saturday 5th January 2013
NEW Dumbarton player-manager Ian Murray made an appearance as studio guest on BBC Scotland’s Sportscene television programme on Thursday night (3rd January).
As an ex-Hibs man he was there particularly to comment on the big Edinburgh derby, but was also asked by presenter Rob Maclean about his new role with the Sons of the Rock.
The gaffer said he was definitely pleased to have the chance to manage a club like Dumbarton in the First Division. The players had shown what they are capable of in the last two games, he declared.
The boss was positive about the task, while acknowledging the huge challenge of competing as a small, part-time club in a league comprising mostly full-time teams.
You can catch Ian Murray’s comments about Dumbarton, and see a clip of him in action for Hibernian, 14 minutes into the broadcast,
Sportscene can be viewed on the BBC iPlayer here for the next five days.
