DUMBARTON’s third friendly match has ended in a 3-2 victory away to Lowland League outfit Gretna 2008.
Rhys Caves put the home side in front after 17 minutes, but Sons turned it round with goals by Ryan Wallace and Gregor Buchanan (pictured).
However, a long-range equaliser by a trialist brought the home side level late in the first half.
Another player on trial restored Sons’ lead with five minutes left, intercepting from a slack pass and running in to finish.
Dumbarton will travel further south on Tuesday evening to visit Workington AFC in a further pre-season game.
This is the last friendly fixture before the opening Premier Sports Cup tie at home to Stirling Albion next Saturday.
