EX-DUMBARTON defender Stuart Findlay was given his first experience of first-team football with Newcastle United tonight in their FA Cup third round replay at home to Birmingham City.
The defender, who joined Sons on loan from Celtic in the second half of season 2014/15, played the full 90 minutes of the Magpies’ 3-1 victory which saw them through to a fourth round tie away to Oxford United.
Nearly 35,000 fans watched Stuart in action at St James’s Park. He joined Newcastle in the close season after his release from Celtic.
