DUMBARTON’S survival in League One could be clinched on Saturday after a late goal gave Forfar a 2-1 win over Clyde tonight.
Clyde took an early lead at Station Park, but the Loons came back to win, keeping their slim chances of avoiding automatic relegation alive.
It means that a victory at Broadwood on Saturday will see Sons confirm their place in next season’s League One. Even if they draw, they can seal it with a win at home to Peterhead on Tuesday as Clyde do not play again until Thursday.
In the evening’s other fixture, Peterhead won 3-1 at East Fife, ensuring that they will join the Fifers, Alloa Athletic, Queen’s Park and six other teams in next season’s League One.
For Dumbarton, the focus is now fully on Saturday to ensure they join that list.
