FOCUSING BACK ON THE LEAGUE

Friday 7th November 2014

AFTER last week’s close-run Scottish Cup tie against Rangers, Dumbarton are back to the bread and butter of SPFL Championship football, starting with the trip to Dumfries to face Queen of the South.

Then on Saturday 15th November it’s away to Livingston in another crucial clash.

Manager Ian Murray, who despite last week’s loss in the Scottish Cup against Rangers, remains in a positive frame of mind.

He said : “We played well last week without reward. The lads were all deeply disappointed to find themselves out of the cup, but we dust ourselves down and look ahead to our league games.

“We played a slightly different formation against Rangers and it worked out OK, but we treat each game as it comes.

“Queens are a good side and as ever in the Championship, we’ll need to be at our best to come home with the points, and that’s what we’ll be aiming to do.”

There are challenges on the player front. Chris Kane looks like he will miss out again, with gaffer Murray rating his chances as only 50/50. Hugh Murray remains sidelined with a long-term injury problem.
