DUMBARTON have lost 2-0 at home to Falkirk today at the Dumbarton Football Stadium, with a poor start to the game once again being their downfall.
Having conceded early goals in all of their last three games, Sons hoped to frustrate their visitors, who are continuing to chase a top four place.
But that ambition did not last, with Jaze Kabia punishing poor defending to round Kieran Wright and slot home the opener after four minutes.
Falkirk had their second goal on 27 minutes when Charlie Telfer shot under Wright and into the net, leaving Dumbarton beleaguered.
Indeed, only some great defending by Carlo Pignatiello (pictured) prevented the visitors from going in at half time with a 3-0 lead.
The second half saw the Bairns cut through the Sons defence at will, but they lacked a finish to add to their tally.
Even when they did find the net, Aaron Taylor-Sinclair’s header was ruled out for offside.
An effort by Ross MacLean, which was blocked by a defender, was all Dumbarton could drum up to try to get back into the game.
Sons are back at home again next week, against Montrose.
