MIDFIELDER Finlay Gray has extended his contract with Dumbarton by a further year, until the 2024 close season.
The 20-year-old, who comes from the local area and grew up supporting Sons, has made a place in Dumbarton’s midfield his own this season.
Having missed the first game of the cinch League Two campaign, he has been an ever-present in our league season to date.
Two stunning goals, as part of victories over Annan Athletic and Stenhousemuir, have underlined what Finlay has brought to our midfield since signing from the team now known as Open Goal Broomhill FC.
He was also C&G Systems’ club player of the month for August after a vote among our supporters on social media.
Finlay signed his extended contract at Dumbarton Football Stadium today, and everybody is delighted to get the new deal done.
Manager Stevie Farrell said: “Since he featured as a trialist for us in pre-season, Finlay has played with the passion he has had for Dumbarton all his life.
“He knows how hard every player has to work for us to be successful this season and he has the determination and work ethic to help us do that.
“We feel this is a very good bit of business and a real boost for us going into the important second quarter of the league season.”
