KILMARNOCK are edging towards becoming the final team in next season’s Championship after they lost 1-0 to Falkirk in the play-off final first leg last night.
An injury time goal for the Bairns by Will Vaulks put them marginally in pole position to win promotion to the Premiership for next season.
The second leg takes place at Killie’s Rugby Park on Sunday, and the losers on aggregate will complete the Championship line-up for next season.
Should Kilmarnock come down, they and Sons would meet next season for the first time in the league since 1993, and the first time in any competition since 1995.
