DUMBARTON are without a first-team fixture this weekend and manager Stevie Aitken has organised extra training during the enforced break.

Sons SPFL game against Hibs, scheduled for tomorrow was cancelled with the Leith club having international call ups.

This will make the players commitment this week to three sessions.

The gaffer said: “Hopefully, having a free weekend will be the break we need that will help re-charge the batteries.

“The lads reacted very positively to the defeat at Palmerston last week. There’s no doubt it was a sore one for everybody, especially the supporters who made the trip.

“We’ll train tomorrow and make use of the time that has become available because of the Hibs game going off.”

Sons next game is now on 2nd April against Morton at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium, and it’s another big match for the manager to look forward to.

He said : “Matches at home are important and with 4 left at our own place, the next one against the ‘Ton is a huge occasion.

“We have to continue our form at the CID Stadium which is decent.

“All preparations in the coming week will be focussed on the game coming up.”
