EDIN LYNCH doesn’t even get the key to the door until August.
But even at his young age, his move to Dumbarton is an exciting one.
The youngster, who turns 21 in two months’ time, became Sons’ latest signing for season 2021/22 when he penned a one-year deal at the Rock last night.
Having turned out for Alloa Athletic last season before being released, he was excited when he got the opportunity to become a Dumbarton player.
And he’s promised to give it everything to help the club push for a successful season.
Speaking to www.dumbartonfootballclub.com, Edin said: “When my agent told me about the opportunity, it was a no-brainer. I’m just delighted to be here.
“I’ve only heard positive things about the gaffer and I know a few of the boys who played under him last season and before. He’s shown a real interest in bringing me here.
“First and foremost, I’ll give 100 per cent in games – that’s vital. Beyond that, I can play centre half or right back and I like to use the ball as best I can.
“I am hungry to go into a tackle as well, and the fans can expect to see that from me.”
Edin’s time at Alloa wasn’t quite the full experience, with supporters unable to attend matches due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, he revealed that he had a former Dumbarton favourite to learn from and help him develop as a player.
He added: “It was difficult with the circumstances, but I really improved as a player, learning from really experienced guys.
“But now my focus is fully on playing for Dumbarton.
“Andy Graham really was great, on and off the pitch. He’s somebody you would want to take to war with you.
“On the pitch I took a lot from his game, and even did so when I was watching from the bench.
“I haven’t spoken to him about my move to Dumbarton yet – that’s something I’m due to do. Before I signed we wanted it kept confidential.
“Now it’s good to get it over the line.”
