SONS face important upcoming tests, first at Starks Park against Raith Rovers, and then the next Saturday Livingston at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium.
Dumbarton boss Stevie Aitken, as ever, is looking forward to the matches following his team’s fine performance against Rangers last Saturday.
He said : “It’s another hard game ahead, but that’s nothing new for us, every match in the Championship is a challenge.
“We did well last week despite losing, but we now focus on Raith Rovers and again our confidence is high. The lads are working hard and we go into the game with no fear.
“We’ve done our homework and we know what to expect.”
Raith have had a good start to season 2015/16 and sit fourth in the Ladbrokes Championship table. Back to back league wins against Queen of the South and St Mirren, the latter shown live on BBC Alba, made way for a 2-0 League Cup defeat to Celtic this midweek.
In the last five meetings between the clubs, it’s two wins apiece with a 2-2 draw in between.
Two DFC alumni are now part of the Raith Rovers squad in the form of Mitch Megginson and Darren Petrie, with both players yet to establish themselves as first pick under Ray McKinnon.
Gregor Buchanan misses out this weekend, being suspended following his red card against Rangers.
Jamie Lindsay and Scott Taggart are still on physio Claire Mitchell’s injury list, but Stevie Ross could be added to the squad.
Striker Stevie Craig won’t be risked and with Buchanan’s suspension, Frazer Wright come into manager Aitken’s reckoning.
