ATTACKING midfielder Eoghan Stokes is the latest player to check into Dumbarton, signing a one-year deal after leaving Airdrieonians.
The 25-year-old is a former Republic of Ireland youth international and started his career at Leeds United, who he left in 2018 with first-team experience under his belt.
He returned to his native Ireland, firstly with Bohemians. His performances there drew the attention of Portuguese outfit Boavista but no deal came of his trial with the club.
Derry City was his next stop, and then he switched to Cork City before deciding to try his luck in Scotland with Airdrieonians last season.
He played 13 games for the Diamonds before leaving at the end of the close season, and he is now Stevie Farrell’s latest signing for Sons.
The gaffer said: “Eoghan is a talented player with the potential to do really well for us. When we made contact, he was really keen to join us.
“His style of play fits in with our plans for Dumbarton going forward and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do in our jersey.”
Watch out for an interview with Eoghan on the club website later today.
