Dumbarton Football Club can confirm that Matty Shiels and Declan Byrne have both departed the club.
Shiels joined the Sons in August for a second spell at the Rock after previously being here on loan in 2019.
After exercising a clause in his contract, the left-sided defender will sign for a full-time club in this transfer window.
He departs Dumbarton having played 22 times this season and scoring 3 goals, most recently against Rangers on Saturday evening.
Byrne is also on the move with the striker finding game time restricted after recovering from injury.
The striker started last season in electric goalscoring form but an injury brought that to a halt.
He scored on six occassions in his time at DFC.
Boss Stevie Farrell commented: “Matthew joined us in the hope he could get back to full-time football and as such we agreed we would not stand in his way.
“We are sad to see him leave the club as in his short time here he has proved to be an integral part of the group.
“Declan and I have a great relationship and I’m sorry to see him go.
“I do, however, fully understand at this stage in his career he wants to play on a more regular basis.
“Both guys go with nothing but our best wishes for the future.”
