SONS entertain Ladbrokes Championship league leaders Queen of the South at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium this weekend.
After last week’s disappointing result at Starks Park, manager Stevie Aitken is looking to bounce back acknowledging that home matches are important to the league campaign.
He said: “Picking up points at our own place is vital, but we are aware of how tough it is going to be tomorrow. Queens are a very good side and are playing well right now and this is why they are currently top of the league.”
Mat Northcroft will be the referee, with Graham McNellie and Derek Crothers assisting. So far this season, Mr Northcroft has been in charge for six games including Sons 1-1 draw with Morton in August.

Saturday 22nd August 2015 – Dumbarton 0 Queen of the South 2; Saturday 7th November 7 2015 – Queen of the South 1 Dumbarton 0; Saturday 9th January 2016 – Dumbarton 2 Queen of the South 1 (William Hill Scottish Cup, fourth round); Saturday 19th March 2016 – Queen of the South 6 Dumbarton 0; and Tuesday 12th April 2016 – Dumbarton 4 Queen of the South 2.
In team news, Gregor Buchanan, who received two yellow cards at Starks Park. will miss this game, as will Frazer Wright, who is sitting out the match due to suspension.
Also out of contention is Grant Gallagher, who has an ankle knock. But skipper Darren Barr, who was in the doubftul category earlier this week will be available.
