SONS face a big test this weekend, taking on promotion contenders Falkirk at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium.
Gaffer Stevie Aitken and his squad are very much up for the challenge and well prepared for the game.
The Bairns sit third in the Championship league table, eight points behind joint leaders Hibernian and Dundee United. In the last six matches Peter Houston’s team are unbeaten in five. with two wins and three draws.
There have been 91 matches between the two clubs, with Sons winning 28, losing 44 with 19 draws.
Dumbarton’s last win was in March 2015 when Archie Campbell stepped up to rifle a blazing shot into the top corner of the net from 20 yards out.
The team that day was: Rogers, Findlay, Wilson, Graham, Taggart, Fleming, Turner, Gilhaney, Agnew, Megginson, Campbell. Subs: Ewings, Lightbody, Kirkpatrick, Easton, Duggan. Only Garry Fleming and Jamie Ewings remain in the present squad.
The team news is that Grant Gallagher remains sidelined but in better news on-loan Sam Stanton has recovered from his groin injury and is available for selection.
Also shaking off a long-term injury is Frazer Wright, and he is added to the squad.
Mat Northcroft will referee this weekend’s Championship game against Falkirk. Mr Northcroft will be assisted by Ross Haswell and Drew Kirkland.
