DUMBARTON return to match action tomorrow after an extra week’s break, with Airdrieonians the opposition at the C&G Systems Stadium.
Tomorrow’s game, which kicks off at 3pm, is one which can’t come quickly enough for manager Jim Duffy and his players.
After three wins on the row which at one point had them joint top of League One, Sons are raring to go against the Diamonds.
But the boss is only too aware of the hard work which lies in wait if even a fourth straight game without defeat is to be attained tomorrow.
He said: “We have trained really well this week and the players can’t wait to get back on to the pitch to face Airdrie.
“However, we know how tough it will be. All four of our games against them last season were draws, which shows how well the sides were matched, and we expect it to be the same tomorrow.
“They had a good result in their Tunnocks Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup tie last Saturday, but there is no reason why we should not be confident ourselves.”
There are no injury or suspension worries for the manager ahead of tomorrow’s game.
Steven Kirkland is the referee tomorrow, with David Roome and Kieran Trayner in assistance.
Bar 72 will be available for all Dumbarton fans when the turnstiles open tomorrow. Airdrieonians fans can access the stadium via the west turnstiles and bar facilities will be available in the Chivas Suite.
Copies of the club’s award-winning matchday programme, Sons View, will be on sale tomorrow priced £2.50.
For those who can’t make the game (or even if you can make it), in-play Twitter commentary will be available @dumbartonfc. Our Twitter feed is sponsored by S1 Autos.
Our report will be online at www.dumbartonfootballclub.com as soon as possible after the final whistle.
The club shop will be open in Bar 72 prior to kick-off and replica kit will be available to purchase.
