SONS entertain Championship league leaders Hibernian at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium this weekend.
Manager Stevie Aitken has had a busy week, and he’s hinted that his work is not yet finished.
He said: “There’s been a few comings and goings squad wise with Craig (Pettigrew) leaving on Monday and the signing of Tom (Lang) at training last night. Added to that we’ve been talking to a few other players and hopefully we can get a deal over the line today (Friday).
“We’ve got a cracking game coming up tomorrow against Hibs and it’s a match I’m really looking forward to. It’s part and parcel of being involved in the Championship and I’m looking forward to the game.”
In team news, Christian Nade, who made his second debut for Sons in last week’s game at Cappielow as a sub, is fit and available.
However, still nursing injuries are ‘keeper Jamie Ewings and Grant Gallagher. Alan Martin, who only managed 20 mins at Morton, is expected to be fit.
New signing Tom Lang is available and Stuart Carswell is added to the squad. Sam Stanton misses this game as it’s against his parent club.
The match referee will be Nick Walsh. This will be Mr Walsh’s first game in charge of Dumbarton this season, but he was a familiar face last term with four matches as ref with the Sons in action. He will be assisted by Alastair Mather and Chris McNab.
Memory Match: Dumbarton 2-1 Hibernian, Saturday 8th August 2015. Team: Mark Brown, Andy Graham, Mark Docherty, Gregor Buchanan, Jon Routledge, Scott Taggart, Garry Fleming, Grant Gallagher, Willie Gibson, Kevin Cawley, Steven Craig.
