Friday 7th August 2015
DUMBARTON’S Championship season for 2015/16 kicks off on Saturday 8th August with a mouthwatering opening game against Hibernian at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium.
Sons come into the game off the back of some strong performances in pre-season and cup games, and are looking to prove themselves once again in the second tier of Scottish football.
Manager Stevie Aitken comments: “Hibs are likely to provide as stern a test as we’ll get all season. They are deservedly one of the favourites for promotion.
“They have a settled side, having only just missed out in last season’s playoffs.
“Still, it’s up to us to rise to the challenge. We have had them watched and will be setting out with a game plan to secure the points.”
Sons have had some tough starts to the season in recent years, but the atmosphere at the club ahead of the visit from Hibernian is upbeat and positive.
No one doubts the severity of the challenge the team will face. But Stevie Aitken and his squad promise that they will be in good shape when the league season finally kicks off.
