DUMBARTON are back in match action tonight, at home to Premiership outfit Hamilton Accies as the build-up to competitive action reaches its conclusion.
Buoyed by Saturday’s 3-2 win over Dundee United, Sons are aiming to make it a double of victories before this weekend’s Betfred Cup opener away to Annan Athletic.
Manager Jim Duffy said: “Tonight is the players’ last chance to show what they can do in match action before we start competitive business.
“Although it is not a competitive fixture, it is an important exercise for us and we will aim to give our fans another positive matchday.”
Checks will once again be made on the fitness of new signings Conor Scullion and Isaac Layne, while Rory Loy remains unavailable.
However, there could be a first chance to see Jordan McMillan in a Dumbarton jersey tonight, with the defender having missed the Dundee United game.
It is also likely that trialists will again be involved – some returning from Saturday, possibly others new to the fold.
Referee Colin Steven will be in charge of tonight’s game, and will have David Roome and Elliott Husband Powton assisting him.
Admission tonight is £10 for adults and £5 for concessions. Once again, season tickets are NOT valid – but can be purchased before the game if you have still to do so for the coming campaign.
Only the home end of the C&G Systems Stadium will be open tonight and all home and away fans should enter via the east turnstiles – the ones closer to Castle Road. Bar 72 will be open for everybody before the game.
Although there are no longer temporary traffic lights on Glasgow Road, its junction with Castlegreen Street remains closed to traffic.
If you usually take this route to the stadium, carry on along Glasgow Road and use either Bruce Street, Victoria Street or Wallace Street to access Castle Road.
Our matchday programme, Sons View, will be on sale tonight priced £2.50. It is the same edition as issued against Dundee United on Saturday.
Tonight’s game kicks off at 7.30pm.
