DUMBARTON take on League One Raith Rovers at home in the Irn Bru Cup quarter final tomorrow.
Gavin Duncan takes charge of tomorrow’s game as referee. He will be assisted by Alistair Mather and Alasdair Ross. Fourth official is John McKendrick.
This will be Sons second appearance at this stage of the cup competition. in 2002, under David Winne, the quarter-finals were reached but Queen of the South inflicted a 2-0 defeat at Palmerston. For Raith, they are past winners, claiming the trophy with a 1-0 win against Rangers at Easter Road in 2014. Grant Murray was Rovers manager at the time.
Craig Barr (pictured) who was suspended for last week’s win at Brechin is available to face his old club. There is no further news on the injured Grant Gallagher and Danny Handling but Christian Nade and David Smith are both still doubtful for the game. Greg Morrison is cup-tied and Dimitris Froxylias is sidelined too with a hamstring injury.
Barr won’t be the only familiar face at the YOUR Radio 103FM Stadium to officials from Starks Park tomorrow. Dougie Hill, David Smith, Chris Johnston, Danny Handling, Christian Nade and Mark Stewart have all worn the dark blue colours of Raith Rovers. On the other side, we welcome back Lewis Vaughan who played for Sons last season on-loan and who quickly established himself as a favourite amongs supporters.
The draw for the semi-finals of the IRN-BRU Cup will be made at the SEC Armadillo in Glasgow on Tuesday 14 November at 1.00pm.
The draw will be streamed live on the SPFL Facebook page.
Semi-final ties are scheduled for the weekend of 17/18 February, 2018.
