AFTER three pre-season friendlies, it is time for competitive action to kick in for Dumbarton when they travel to Ainslie Park to face Lowland League champions Spartans.
Manager Stevie Aitken has been busy adding to his squad over the last few days and is happy with how things have been progressing.
He said: “We’ve had a good pre-season and now we are ready to move into more competitive football before the league starts.
“We know we face a tough test tomorrow but we played a couple of Lowland League sides in pre-season, so we have some idea of what lies in wait.
“The squad is shaping up very well and the players looked very good at training last night. We’ll go there looking for a positive start to the group.”
The boss reports that Rory Loy and Cammy Ballantyne have knocks and won’t be risked tomorrow, but everybody else is available.
The Sons Supporters Trust’s bus to Ainslie Park leaves Dumbarton Town Centre at midday. Seats cost £12 for trust members and under-16s, and £15 for non-members. Seats are still available and can be booked by calling Tommy Hughes on 07710 771341.
