Saturday 23rd February 2013
IT was a disappointing afternoon for Dumbarton at the Bet Butler Stadium, as Falkirk ran out comfortable 2-0 winners thanks to two first half goals.
Thomas Grant and David Weatherston were the men who did the damage for the visitors, scoring on 25 minutes and 30 minutes respectively. Some fine goalkeeping from Stephen Grindlay, including an impressive low stop from a close header, prevented further damage.
In the second half, particularly in the last 20 minutes, Dumbarton pushed hard to try to unlock their opponents’ defence, but to no avail. It was Falkirk who controlled the pace of the match, dominating in the middle of the park.
Next up is a visit to the Rock from Raith Rovers on Tuesday evening (February 26), when Sons will be determined to turn in a better performance and result.
