THE first quarter of Dumbarton’s league season finishes tomorrow, with Forfar Athletic visitors to the C&G Systems Stadium.
The match is sponsored by great friends of DFC, Waterson MacPherson LLP.
After a disappointing 2-1 reverse at home to Clyde last week, it is all about bouncing back for Sons in their bid to keep in touch with the teams at the sharp end of League One.
And having taken only a single point against the Loons last season, there is something of a score to be settled.
Manager Jim Duffy was frustrated by last week’s defeat, but after an intensive week on the training pitch, he and his players are raring to go.
The boss said: “We know that we weren’t good enough on the day against Clyde. Things that we had done well previously weren’t done so well in that game and there just wasn’t the same spark.
“We also lost Ryan McGeever to injury at a less than ideal time, and overall it was a day we would prefer just to put behind us.
“That’s something we will be able to do with the help of a positive result against Forfar, and that is certainly our aim.
“We know we are much better than we showed last week and that’s exactly what we aim to put on display. If we do that then we should be confident of a result.”
New signing Adam Frizzell, on loan from Kilmarnock, is added to the squad for tomorrow and Kyle Hutton is fit again after being an unused substitute last week,
However, Ryan McGeever is out, as is Jordan McMillan.
Kevin Graham will referee tomorrow’s game, with Brian Templeton and Jonathan Bell assisting.
As reported previously, Dumbarton FC is backing Show Racism the Red Card’s annual fortnight of action and a display will take place on the pitch prior to the match.
All supporters should enter via the east turnstiles – the ones nearest Castle Road – tomorrow and will have access to Bar 72, where ‘The Sons Pale Ale’, made by our sponsors the Lennox Brewery, will be on sale.
Forfar fans will be taken from the bar to the away end before kick-off.
Copies of our matchday magazine, Sons View, will be available tomorrow priced £2.50.
