DUMBARTON LOOK TO GAIN POINTS ON THE ROAD

Friday 4th December 2015

SONS are back ‘on the road’ this weekend with a short journey to Clackmannanshire to play Alloa Athletic at the Indodrill Stadium.

Both teams meet again next Tuesday in the Scottish Cup, but gaffer Aitken knows that the next three league matches are crucial for his side’s survival in the Championship.

He said : “It’ll be a tough game tomorrow, but Alloa are one of the teams where we can compete with and with St Mirren and Livingston to play before Christmas, it’s a big set of games coming up.

“We played well in the first half at Ibrox (last Tuesday), but we did tire towards the end so we are hopefully not going to see any reaction to that tomorrow.”

The last three matches between Dumbarton and Alloa Athletic have finished as follows:

Sep 5th, 2015 – SPFL Championship
Dumbarton 0 Alloa Ath 2 (Holmes, Ferns)
Apr 11th 2015 – SPFL Championship
Alloa Ath 3 (Flannigan, Cawley, Spence) Dumbarton 0
Mar 7th, 2015 – SPFL Championship
Dumbarton 1 (Fleming) Alloa Ath 0

For Dumbarton, Steven Saunders is suspended following his midweek red-card against Rangers and with Scott Taggart till a couple of weeks away in terms of fitness, manager Aitken will have to shuffle his squad, but Jordan Kirkpatrick (pictured) is available again.
