DUMBARTON visit Balmoor Stadium tomorrow to play Peterhead in matchday three of this season’s League One, with the aim being putting the first points of the season on the board.
After defeats to Raith Rovers and Falkirk, and a midweek reverse to St Mirren Colts, Sons are determined to bounce back.
It is the first league trip to Balmoor since February 2011. That match ended in victory, as did the last visit overall, 3-2 in a Scottish Cup tie in January 2018.
Manager Jim Duffy is now aiming to make it a hat-trick, albeit a slightly spaced-out one.
He said: “It goes without saying that recent results have been very disappointing but every match is a chance to bounce back and that’s what we aim to do at Peterhead.
“The players worked hard in training last night and are all desperate to get winning ways established.”
Stuart Carswell, Jordan McMillan and Joe McKee were all taken off during Tuesday’s cup tie.
However, all three changes were precautionary and it is reported that all three should be available.
If Carswell makes it and is selected, it will be his 100th game for the club.
Peterhead have drawn their two league games so far, having been promoted as League Two champions.
Referee David Dickinson will handle the game, assisted by Douglas Ross and Scott Leslie.
