DUMBARTON LOOK FOR SEASONAL BOOST

Friday 18th December 2015

SONS head to the Tony Macaroni Arena this weekend, to face Livingston in the final Ladbrokes SPFL Championship game before Christmas.

The crucial nature of the game for Dumbarton is a fact not lost on manager Stevie Aitken.

“Confidence is everything in football,” said Stevie, “and we are full of it right now.

“Our lads are now getting the rewards for all their hard work and we’ve had a good week.

“We are under no illusions about this one though — it will be a tough game. Livingston will pose us problems but we’ve done our homework and the players know what to expect.”

The manager also mentioned that with the January transfer window approaching, he’s making plans for that crucial period.

He said: “I’m keen to get some fresh faces in and I’m equally keen to try and keep the lads we’ve got on loan deals.

“As ever though, finances will dictate what we can and can’t do.

“Darren Barr and Steven Saunders have been spoken too as well about them staying with us longer and hopefully we can get something agreed.”

Scott Taggart’s battle back to fitness continues and he’s included in tomorrow’s squad giving boss Aitken an early Christmas present.

Captain Darren Barr and midfielder Jon Routledge are both on five yellow cards ahead of the Livi clash and the manager has a full squad to choose from.
