DUMBARTON FIGHT BACK TO WIN FRIENDLY

Monday 2nd July 2018

IT may not have been the highest-profile victory from 2-0 down on the night, but Dumbarton have another win to their name after coming back to win 3-2 at Cumbernauld Colts.

Fielding four trialists from the start, Sons were stunned after six minutes when Jordan Marshall shot home from distance for the home side.

On 21 minutes it was then a two-goal deficit, with Paul Nash finishing for the Colts.

But a minute from half time came a lifeline when trialist Kieran Campbell sent over a low ball which the unfortunate Greg Pascazio could only turn past his own keeper.

Another trialist, Andy Little, was brought off the bench in the second half and on 69 minutes he levelled as Sons punished a slack passback.

And with five minutes left, Little crossed for a third trialist, Iain Russell (pictured), to head the winner at the back post.

The next scheduled friendly action for Sons is on Thursday, away to Queen’s Park at Lesser Hampden.
