SONS travel to Kirkcaldy tomorrow to face Raith Rovers – with this week’s tragic loss very much in mind among the whole Dumbarton family.
Vice-Chairman Colin Hosie commented on Friday 22nd January: “We all go to Kirkcaldy with a very heavy heart, following yesterday’s devastating news about the death of Dumbarton chief executive Gilbert Lawrie.
He added: “We gave serious consideration to calling for a postponement, but we didn’t think that it would be something that Gilbert would have wanted.
“With agreement from our friends at Raith Rovers, there will be a minutes applause as we remember him before kick-off.
“Also, the players will wear black armbands as a mark of respect.”
The last meeting between the two sides (pictured) ended in a 3-3 draw at the Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium on 21 November 2015.
A brace from Steven Saunders and a penalty from Garry Fleming secured the point that day.
For Saturday’s encounter, new loan signing Tom Walsh is added to the squad.
Missing will be captain Darren Barr, who serves a one match suspension for an accumulation of six yellow cards.
