DUMBARTON head to Dens Park this week knowing that a win in the Scottish Cup 5th round replay will land a quarter-final place against Rangers at Ibrox.
Manager Stevie Aitken realises that the game against Dundee is an important one.
He said : “Playing in the Scottish Cup throws up a different type of match. We did well to force tonight’s replay and the rewards will be massive if we get through.
“But, we are playing a top six Premiership team and it will be very hard.
“There is pressure on Dundee, especially as they will be at home.
“We need to have our strongest team available to cause what will be seen as an upset.
“We have prepared as well as we can and we travel to Dundee with optimism.”
Both teams drew a blank at a wet Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium, resulting in tonight’s replay.
In team news, strikers Christian Nade and Garry Fleming, who missed last Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at St Mirren will travel to Dens and a late decision on both will be made on their fitness to play.
On-loan Celtic youngster Jamie Lindsay also will be on the trip, having missed several weeks due a foot injury and subsequent operation. He is expected to be included in the squad.
