DUMBARTON BRACED FOR A TOUGH TEST

Friday 28th August 2015

LIVE TV football beckons for Dumbarton tonight as the action from the Falkirk Stadium against the Bairns will be beamed to the nation by BBC Alba.

It’s week four of the Ladbrokes Championship and manager Stevie Aitken has had a busy period following the Doonhamers defeat and has shuffled his squad in response.

Andy Graham has moved on and two new signings arrived midweek in the shape of the experienced Frazer Wright and striker Stevie Ross.

The boss was expecting another tough game, with Falkirk among the division’s favourites to finish in the top four come next April.

He said: “Falkirk are a good side and will be dangerous opponents for us.

“As ever though, it’s about what we do.

“We have good players in our squad and we all know that we didn’t get up to speed last week against Queen of the South.

“Training has been very good and the boys have responded to what it is we are trying to instill in them, so it’s another game to look forward to tonight.”

The game will be Falkirk’s third one in six days, a tough schedule for any club and the Bairns sit third in the Ladbrokes Championship.

Last time both clubs met in the SPFL Championship, Sons managed a 1-0 victory, thanks to an 80th minute goal from Archie Campbell.

Sons fans will reacquaint themselves with goalie Danny Rogers, a winner of three player of the year awards during his year long on-loan spell at DFC, who is now on the books at the Falkirk Stadium.

Missing from the squad will be long term injury victim Jamie Lindsay, however Frazer Wright and Steven Ross are added and will travel as will St Johnstone loan player Scott Brown.
