DONALD FULLARTON

Wednesday 30th March 2022

IT is with very deep and profound sadness that we have learned that Donald Fullarton, our club photographer for many years, has passed away at the age of 77.

For over 50 years, Donald could be seen on a matchday beside the goal Dumbarton were attacking, waiting to take pictures for the local press.

He also took photographs for our club website when it was first set up in 2002, and after leaving his post with the local press in 2008, continued to take photos on the club’s behalf.

A passionate supporter of his local senior club, Donald was also a director of the Sons Supporters Trust for many years.

He retired from the club photographer post in July 2021.

Donald, who lived in Helensburgh, was also a well-respected newspaper editor and journalism lecturer.

He is survived by his wife Phyllis, son Campbell, daughters Victoria and Claire, and eight grandchildren.

Donald was a magnificent and talented servant to Dumbarton FC, and his contribution to our media output over the years will never be forgotten.

The thoughts of everybody at Dumbarton FC are with his family and friends at this sad time. Funeral arrangements will be posted on the club website when known.
