DEVELOPMENT SONS LOSE TO QOS

Tuesday 13th January 2015

DEVELOPMENT Sons started the second-half of their league campaign with a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Queen of the South last night.

A cold, wintry and windy evening at Murray Park in Milngavie was the setting and despite having the majority of the play and chances in the first 45 mins, Colin Nish’s young charges couldn’t weather the Doonhammers second period storm.

The away team edged two-goals in front and a late burst from the young Sons including a strike from Mikey Hopkins (pictured) was not enough to stop the Dumfries team claiming the points.

Dumbarton have now played 16 matches in the SPFL Development League West, having won 5, lost 9 and drawn 1.

Team : Lumsden , Eadie, Martin, Lightbody, C McCallum, Whitefield, Hopkins, R Clark, Biddulph, A Clark, D McCallum. Subd – Adger (GK), Trialist, McIntyre, Smith, Trialist.
