DEREK BLAIR

Monday 27th April 2020

IT is with very deep sadness that we announce that Derek Blair, a Sons fan for many years, has died.

Derek passed away aged 43 on Friday, April 24, after illness. He had been a season ticket holder for seven years before work commitments meant that he had to give up his ticket at the start of season 2019/20.

He attended games with his brother-in-law Thomas Craig and Thomas’ son Fraser, and his favourite game was the promotion clincher at Airdrie in 2012, where he got to meet his hero Bryan Prunty.

He also enjoyed the 2018 Irn Bru Cup final against Inverness CT at McDiarmid Park, despite Dumbarton’s 1-0 defeat.

A member of the Golden Friendship group in Clydebank, Derek used his time at the stadium to catch up with his many friends.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are extended to Derek’s family and friends at this sad time.

Derek’s funeral will take place on Tuesday, May 5.
